Poster colour tends to give you a more solid block of colour as their composition is less water soluble. Poster colours are closer in composition to acrylic paints, and are good for blocking in large areas of colour in paintings, or posters that contains lots of blocks of solid colour.

Poster colour painting is a medium of painting that is opaque in nature and gives the freedom for artists to paint light hues over darker shades.
